City Kids Festival

More than 3,000 people attended the Redwood Gospel Mission’s City Kids Festival this year. Thanks in part to a grant provided by Jean Schulz through the Community Foundation of Sonoma County, and through the support raised at the “RGM City Kids” banquet, the Mission was able to provide over 1,500 backpacks filled with school supplies to needy children from all over Sonoma County.

More than 30 churches and community groups blessed the children with kettle corn, snow cones, balloons, bounce houses, games and activities, face paint- ing, arts and crafts, evangelism, and entertainment. “The Cove” church gave away nearly 17,000 books and the Mission cooked 3,000 hot dogs for the event.

If you, your church, or your community group would like to get involved in the next Mission outreach events, logon to our website, www.srmission.org, or contact Alice at our Ministry Support Center, (707) 578-1830.

Monday, September 15, teams of golfers put forth their best effort during this year’s Team Extreme Golf 2008 held at Fountaingrove Golf & Athletic Club. They started at sunrise to play 3 rounds of golf including team scramble, individual & “special” ball and wrapping it up with the “B-I-G” hole round. Many took advantage of the chair massage before sitting down to a scrumptious dinner buffet (spouses included). It was an outstanding day of great fellowship and golf on a challenging and beautiful course while supporting “Real Change” to homeless and hurting people.
